Bear is a friendly boy who loves to play with a ball which he will drop on command, he seems to enjoy playing with children and will usually share his toys.
He loves his walks and being off lead and normally comes when he is called.
His new home should be pet free, as he has been living in a home with a number of other dogs and cats and he is finding this overwhelming. Bear was attacked by another dog as a youngster which has made him a little anxious.
As a young Springer, Bear is going to need an owner with the time and patience to bond with him and give him the exercise and mental stimulation he needs. When trust has been established the owner will be able to gradually give him the socialisation he has missed.
Bear is going to be a great friend and companion to his new family in the happy home he so deserves.

My brother Marley and I are both in our new homes, woohoo 🥳
It’s true that we were a ‘bit’ excited on Adoption Day and yes, I did eat all the biscuits, but a Springer’s got to do what a Springer’s got to do – all’s fair in love and gravy bones 🤣
Here I am with my best mate the Shetland pony, and relaxing after a day of fun.
Life is great 🤩and I am very happy, still a bit of a wild child, totally adorable and mad as a lorry load of frogs 🐸🐸🐸
Are you looking for a young, fun-loving, athletic boy, then meet Murphy.
This poor lad has had a tough beginning in his early months, starting life in a traveller camp, where we are told he was beaten and treated badly, especially by men. Hence, he can get a little nervous initially around people he doesn’t know. His present owners believe Murphy to be around two and a half years of age, they rescued him from the camp and gave him a home for just over a year. However, as they are in their mid-seventies, they have sadly decided to rehome him, as they are finding a young Springers energy levels too high to cope with on a daily basis.
Murphy, lives in the home with their other thirteen-year-old Springer, who growls at Murphy when he gets a bit too much. But he is not daft and gets the message and will soon back off. Murphy is fine with his neighbour a Pomeranian and he lives around horse’s, sheep and alpacas with no issue. Birds and chickens he will chase as most Springers are inclined to do. He is usually quite happy around the children allowing them to play with his toys.
Murphy needs an active home with people who will enjoy his companionship, while guiding Murphy with positive training.
He will need working on his recall, basic training and loose lead walking, so he can be safely off lead enjoying the fun he has missed out on so far. Murphy will be a fantastic outdoor companion for owners who love the outdoors.
Murphy is a boy who brings a smile to your face, he deserves a
home with people that can love and nurture him and they will be rewarded with affection love and lots of bounce.

Sam is nine and a half years old and has lived with his present owner for the past seven years.
He is a friendly, well behaved boy, who’s described as a real ” people person ”
He’s good at the vets and calm at the groomers, both say he’s a lovely dog! He enjoys his walks, is ok with other dogs and loves visitors.
Sam was fine being left alone until 10 months ago when he had a panic attack while the owner was out. We believe something must have frightened him and he couldn’t get to his safe space. Since this incident he becomes anxious when left alone and his new family will need to be patient while teaching him that he is safe and that they will always return.
NWESSR will give support and advice to his new family while he settles in and learns to trust again.

Hi folks, Marley here with news of Another Happy Ending!
You might remember me and my brother Milo – we were the youngsters looking for new homes in May.
After our appeal went live, so many people applied to adopt us that the NWESSR team had a very difficult job to pick out the perfect homes for us, but it didn’t take long until they had chosen our forever families 💝💝
On adoption day, we were very excited to meet our new families, but we soon calmed down and they could see past the giddy kippers to the handsome, clever and adorable boys that we are. I was a bit cross that Milo went first and ate nearly all the Adoption Day Biscuits, but that’s a small price to pay really isn’t it? 🤣🤣
Anyway, now I live near the coast and I go on the beach, which is Springer Heaven! I live with a cat and we get on really well, and my best friend is a sausage dog – he’s only got little legs but we have a great time playing together 🥳
After a busy day, playing, running and training, I like to relax in style – doing The Big Springer Sprawl!

NWESSR are asking for your help in raising funds for Emily.
Emily is nearly 12 years old, and had lived with her original owners since she was a puppy, then her life was turned upside down and she was surrendered to NWESSR.
When she came into our care we discovered that she had a large mass attached to her spleen which required immediate emergency surgery. It was touch and go but she came through the operation and after a few days in hospital, she is recovering in the home of one of our kind foster carers.
Emily is normally a bright, active girl, very loving and well behaved, her foster carer says she is no trouble at all!
As you can imagine this was an expensive procedure and we would be so grateful if you feel able to make a small donation to help us with the cost.
It’s hard to believe it’s already June, but it is, which means that it’s nearly Dogs Day Out! This year’s
event is on Sunday, 28th June 2026, from 12-4pm, and all of us here at NWESSR would really love for
you to come along and join us for a fun afternoon!
We’re as busy as ever helping Springers in Need, so it’s also a great opportunity to raise much-needed
funds for NWESSR. There is a £2 entry fee for adults, children’s entry is free. Everyone is welcome, so
please bring along your family and friends – and remember that any breed of dog can enter our dog
show!
As usual, there will be lots of things for both two- and four-legged visitors to enjoy – including favourites
such as the dog show, the have-a-go activities, a tombola, and a raffle. We will also have craft stalls
selling some fabulous handmade items. All proceeds raised are in aid of NWESSR.
This year, NWESSR’s trainer will be running a 30-minute training session at 12.30pm, so why not join in
and ‘Teach Your Dog an Emergency Stop’!
The first dog show class starts at 1pm, but please register at the entry tent beforehand so that the
classes can start on time. £2 per entry:

Class 2 – Fabulous Fella
Class 3 – Waggiest Tail
Class 4 – Best Veteran
Class 5 – Best 6 Legs
Class 6 – Best Paw Shaker

The have-a-go activities, including Dog Agility, Dog Show Jumping, Fastest Recall and Gun Dog Scurry
will be available to take part in throughout the afternoon, these are also £2 per entry.
The ever-popular Pizza Principles will be selling their wood-fired pizzas again (and will be generously
donating to NWESSR for each pizza sold, as usual), and delicious homemade cakes and drinks will be
available in the Village Hall.
Important Information
Parking is free. Please follow our car parking attendant’s instructions and park in the designated area of
the field. Remember the ground is uneven on the field so please take care.
Please note there is no camping available on site, and no picnics are allowed in the Village Hall car park.
Please bring your own chair (or picnic rug) if you wish, as there won’t be any available on the field, sorry.
Please keep your dog on a lead unless taking part in a have-a-go activity. Sorry, no dogs are allowed in
the Village Hall.
Please help us to clear up by placing your and your dog’s litter in the bin bags provided around the field.
Poop bags will be available at the dog show entry tent and the NWESSR stand if you forget your own.
Remember it is CASH ONLY, so please make sure you bring plenty of change with you.

We have some great news about Jim the Springer which will warm the cockles of your heart!
Jim was adopted in May after spending a few weeks with our kind and lovely foster family, who looked after him while we found him a new forever home.
Jim has a medical condition which causes his eyelashes and surrounding fur to turn inwards and scrape against the delicate surface of his eyes. Left untreated, it can quickly lead to severe corneal ulcers, permanent scarring, and vision loss. To fix it he needs what equates to a facelift, skin will be removed from the back of his head and the remaining skin will be pulled back.
We promised Jim and his new family that we would pay for him to have this operation. We put out an appeal earlier this week and within hours we raised the £1000 needed 💝
Jim would like to thank everyone who donated to help him and so would we!🙏

5yrs old Charlie is a lovely boy who really needs a home to call his own, he has learned so much while in our care and is ready to become part of a loving family.
When Charlie first came to NWESSR he was quite traumatised by finding himself in kennels, but with patience and understanding he has relaxed and learnt so much. He is accomplished at ‘sit and stay’, gives a paw, high fives and nose touches. His recall is fine and he understands ‘drops for swaps’ especially as he is treat orientated. He adores swimming and absolutely loves sniffing games especially in the woods and is very good at them!
Charlie is walked with another young NWESSR dog who he tolerates remarkably well. He is strong on the lead, but is learning loose lead walking and this will improve with repetition. Our dogwalker sums him up as follows; he is an “absolute heart melter”. Charlie is generally a calm, well-mannered dog, he can be a bit nervous in some situations, but with patience and the right treatment he will learn to overcome this.
Charlie is looking for a pet free home with a couple who are at home most of the time and can both be involved in his daily care, exercise and games. They would need to continue his training and mental stimulation and, together with lots of love, this clever boy will give so much joy and companionship in return. New owners will also have the pleasure of knowing they have given this beautiful boy his ‘happy ever after’. All he needs is a chance!

Millie is 4 years old and has lived with her owner since a puppy.
They said she could get anxious, around her bowl, at feed times and some toys. It didn’t help that her home was a busy one with 3 children, 2, 11 and 15yrs. There were a lot of comings and goings at different times of the day, especially with the teenagers and their friends, plus her owners’ were working shifts. Poor Millie had a lot to contend with.
Mille was left while her owners were working and she tended to just sleep in her own quiet space where she could feel safe. Springer style she loved to be out when given the chance. Off lead she was usually fine with other dogs. On the lead when restricted, she could have a growl at some if they were not so polite.
Her owner tried to be consistent with training, but this proved difficult as although she tried to implement this, the rest of the household didn’t, as they were not interested in helping.
NWESSR contacted a trainer who had seen Millie and she described her as a lovely dog, but said the home environment was not suitable, as it was too busy with the teenagers. She said Millie needed consistency and boundaries but was not getting it. Which was a shame, because with positive training she was willing to listen and wanted to learn.
NWESSR’s experience of Millie is that she likes to play in the paddock and will retrieve a toy, but will run off with it, instead of dropping on command, this is a work in progress. She has been fine around her food bowl and toys at close quarters. She hasn’t barked at other dogs when on the lead, even those who have barked at her. She has been friendly with all the staff.
It is time for Millie to have a home where she is not constantly competing for attention. So a home with no children, dogs or cats would be the dream.
