Cassie

Meet Cassie, a beautiful young springer, just 16 months old, who needs a new home and a new start. Cassie has come to NWESSR following her owner’s ill-health and is currently living with a neighbouring family who love her dearly but are not in a position to look after her full time.

Cassie’s an affectionate, lively, intelligent dog so she needs an active home where she can get the mental stimulation and physical exercise that a young springer thrives on. New owners will need the time and experience to encourage and develop her existing talents as well as keeping her youthful distractions in check. She already shows strong working instincts, her retrieval skills are improving all the time and while she likes to chase small birds, she’s shown little interest in livestock. On her walks, she has a tendency to pull on the lead and her recall can be less than perfect when distracted.

Young Cassie happily shared her home with an older springer but needs more exposure to different dogs out on walks as she will bark if they make her nervous. She’s not yet experienced being around children or cats, so new owners will need to bear this in mind when making introductions.

In the home, Cassie loves plenty of fuss and attention and is delightfully playful. As well as being gorgeous, she’s got bags of potential and, with the right guidance and training, can look forward to a great future with a new family. Could this be you? If so, please complete a vetting form, mentioning Cassie in your application.
