Guinness’s 10th Birthday

guinness 10 years

Tuesday 20th October is Guinness’s 10th Birthday.

I have had him for just over 4 years now and love him so much.

I know his previous owners, Liz and Rob used to keep in touch via the website so just in case they still do I have enclosed a picture of him

Thank you once again for allowing me to adopt him, he is my constant companion and I don’t know what I would do without him.

Regards

Ella Milne

Hello from Ella Milne,

ella 1 ella 2

It is 5 years ago since we picked Ella up from Rose Tree Farm (July 2010), and it has been a very happy five years for all of us!

She is over 14 now, and getting rather more stately, with short walks due to arthritis but she still loves to get out and about, particularly if it involves the car.

She still loves to bark at any postmen, birds or cats she sees through the window.

She is still as beautiful as she was when she featured on one of the NWESSR Christmas cards a couple of years ago.

Really, we could not be happier together!

HI NWESSR

HI NWESSR,

I thought I would give you a Marvin update.

marvin1

He has now had a number of holidays in the Lakes, in a caravan and a cottage and has visited numerous pubs, making doggie friends along the way.

He regularly runs with me at Sale Water Park,
although sometimes he stops on route to have a sniff or say hello to another dog!  He is partial to swans for some reason, so I have to be careful around the water!

His recall is really good now, considering he had never been off the lead before he came to us.

He came with me to buy my new car and I insisted he be allowed to jump in the boot, before I would buy it.  He even came on the test drive.  I told the dealer the sale depended on Marvin liking it!

We have just started the pet passport process, he has had his rabies injection.  We want to take him under the channel tunnel for a holiday in France.  Fortunately he loves nothing better than being in the boot of the car!

We are planning to do the Morecambe bay walk this year and I have the fun day on my calendar.

Best Wishes

Cath, Ian and Marvin

Guinness from Warrington

Hi,

It will be 4 years in July since we collected Guinness from Warrington and I know it will be 4 years today since Liz and Rob had to return him to rescue and they still miss him.

He is a real character and I love him to bits.

As with most spaniels he has a bit of selective hearing on his walks, when smells are more interesting, but he always has one eye on me.

I’ve attached some pictures to share – the three border collies are my Granddaughters dogs and she had treats in her hand as she was taking the photo, that’s why they’re all watching intently!!

It’s Sammie’s birthday today (28th May)

sammie at crufts15

Thought I’d better send a somewhat overdue update on this Special Day. It’s Sammie’s birthday today (28th May) and despite still only looking about 9 months old she is actually 3 years old! I must get asked at least once a week how old she is and then await the shock when I tell people her real age – it’s all part of her charm I think, and she certainly has bags of that. I’ve lost count of the number of people that would like to keep her, but there’s no fear of her going anywhere she is our devoted (and yes spoilt) perfect dog.

Her recent adventures have included our very first camping trip – a first for all of us, she loved it, the tent was her favourite place, she didn’t have to wear a lead all weekend as any time we couldn’t see her she’d just be curled up in the doorway in her bed watching the world go by.

We are persevering with the gundog lessons, practicing at home she is really good and is like a rocket she a goes mad when I get her training bag out – but in the actual class she becomes some kind of little princess and carries out all the task but tiptoes around daintily and pretends that she doesn’t do running! But as we both enjoy it we carry on.

She got a major shock recently when she got a little brother, not only that but he wasn’t a Spaniel (she certainly has a preference for being friends with other Spaniels) no to her horror he’s a black Labrador! And being Sammie and not having a bad bone in her body she has been fantastic with him (although at times I’m  sure I’ve caught her looking at him wondering when he’s going home) they are now becoming great friends so much so that we are going to have to get a bigger sofa as they now spend most of their time curled up together on it.

Well we must dash now, we have a busy few weeks ahead as we are all off to stay in North Norfolk again and Samantha is most excited about showing her little brother Gus her favourite  beach at Wells and the boat trip to see the seals at Blakeney Point.

Her are a couple of picture of Our fab day at Crufts and little Gus
