NOT LONG TO GO BEFORE ‘CYCLING FOR SPRINGERS’!

It’s now only a few days before Anthony, our trainer, takes on his incredible Cycling for Springers challenge to raise funds for NWESSR.  Here he explains why he decided to do this:

“Hi, I’m Anthony.  I’ve worked with NWESSR for the past five years rehabilitating some of the charity’s dogs.

Over the years I have worked with many dogs, mainly the naughty ones.  These dogs have usually not had the best start in life, and it can take a long time to prepare them for their forever homes.  But NWESSR doesn’t give up on them.

One of the current boys I’m working with, who is living in my home, is Basil.  He needs lots of exercise and stimulation and it turns out he loves running at the side of my mountain bike!  While out with him one day, I had the crazy idea to ride the Leeds & Liverpool Canal in one day and hopefully raise some much-needed money for the charity, so they can continue to help all the Springers that come into rescue each year.

I’ve set a date of Saturday 18th March 2023 and would love for you to come and meet me along the way to cheer and support with your NWESSR Springer.

At 127 miles long, the Leeds & Liverpool Canal is the longest canal in Britain built as a single waterway.  Crossing the Pennines, and including 91 locks on the mainline, it links the cities of Leeds and Liverpool.  I shall be riding from Liverpool to Leeds.”

If you would like to support Anthony on his sponsored bike ride this Saturday, these are the times he is hoping to be at various points on the route:
