Gracie

Gracie, 11 months old, adopted in December 2021

Gracie missed out on that all too important basic training as a puppy.  Having lived in a small house with young children and a busy owner, the lack of training and experience resulted in a young dog with anxiety and fear issues. She began chewing incessantly and overreacting, occasionally snapping at her owners, when visitors and other dogs came into the home.  Despite going to a new home at 7 months old and making some progress, Gracie proved too much of a challenge for her new, elderly owners and, as a result, she arrived into NWESSR’s care.  She’s still mouthy, with a tendency to snatch at her toys, but her positives are that she loves walks, is fanatical about being in water and is very attentive off the lead.  She’s playful and friendly with the larger dogs she meets, but can be a little boisterous with smaller dogs.  She’s now ready to make up for all that lost training time.
