Hoover is 14!

Hoover celebrated his 14th birthday earlier this week!

He was treated to a comfy new blanket to line the now famous chair he likes to lounge on in his kennel, and a new cuddly toy – although he tends to toss his toys rather than cuddle them!  He still enjoys his walks with two volunteer dog walkers, he sniffs everything along the way, and his tail never stops wagging!

Thanks to the amazing generosity of everyone who has donated to Hoover’s appeal, last year we more or less reached our target of £6,500, which is around what it costs NWESSR each year to provide his long-term care, as you can see below.

We are incredibly grateful for this support, but if you’d like to wish Hoover a Happy 14th Birthday and send him a little birthday gift, to help us to care for him over the coming year, then please click on the DONATE button below.

Thank you so much!

This is Hoover’s story…

For his age, Hoover is a healthy 14-year-old lad with a passion for life, country walks, and his own personal space.  Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, Hoover has been rehomed four times since we first met him 12 years ago

It isn’t fair on Hoover to keep uprooting him to try out new homes, so the decision has been made to let him stay in the kennels in Lancashire where he is very settled – enjoying his bracing daily walks, ball games and the very understanding staff there.

This is an unusual course of action for NWESSR but is definitely the best option for Hoover.

However, this situation calls for much more funding than our regular rehomed dogs, and we are desperately looking for sponsors to help us cover the costs of his long-term care which is about £6,500 per year.

Keeping Hoover in kennels is not cheap:

This is a huge demand on our funds and we really need your help.

If only 150 people signed up for regular monthly donations of £4, this would cover his costs and you will know that you have helped Hoover live out his days safely.
