Happy New Year!

We hope that you and your dogs have enjoyed festive season.

Unfortunately, for NWESSR this time has seen an increase in the number of owners wishing to surrender their dogs. 

In common with all rehoming organisations, NWESSR is still dealing with the aftermath of the Covid 19 pandemic. As has been well documented, this led to a surge in demand for dogs followed by a post-pandemic abandonment of many of them. Subsequently we have experienced a decrease in applications to adopt, which is now compounded by the cost-of-living crisis. 

At NWESSR we will never drop the criteria for homing that potential applicants must meet, but this means we are currently facing a shortage of suitable homes. Therefore, if you are considering offering a home to a rescue springer, and especially if you have springer/rescue experience, we would love to hear from you.

We have lovely springers of all ages needing our help, but are particularly keen to hear from potential homes interested in rehoming young male springers or pairs of springers. To see some of the beautiful dogs we have recently rehomed do check out our ‘Rehomed Dogs’ section on the website:
