Two-year old Bailey has settled in to her new home really well. Her new owner told us “She is a real character. She loves her walks and playing ball in the garden (at 7.00am!). At home she spends a great deal of time on her back with all 4 paws in the air. Or watching what is going on intently. She learns really quickly. She loves going in the car. She has got used to the routine and is a wonderful addition to our family.”
Two-year old Bella came into our care earlier this year, looking for a new home. Bella has settled in with her new family and they say it feels like she has always been there with them. Bella’s family are very active and she is enjoying lots of exercise and her favourite activity – playing ball!
Festive Greetings and BreakWe would like to thank all of you who have adopted or fostered a NWESSR dog in 2023. We are also grateful to all of our volunteers who have helped with homing or the dogs in kennels, or with meet and greets or at NWESSR events/fundraising activities.The festive period is obviously not an ideal time to rehome dogs. Therefore any rehoming of dogs will be postponed from today (18th December) until we resume our normal volunteer roles on Tuesday 2nd January 2024. Hello, Sasha here, writing to you from my new home in Lancashire, and I’ve got so much to tell you!
Where to start? Well, I have a new family now and we are all very happy together, I’ve even made friends with the cat. We go out for walks in woods and countryside, and I go running with my Dad a couple of times a week too. We also go away in our camper van and I’ve even been to the top of Helvellyn!

Hello, my name’s Bruno, I’m only 10 months old and still a bit giddy!
I needed a new home so NWESSR found me a family who wanted a dog just like me, young and energetic. We go out and about together, sometimes to the beach, and we play lots of games, which I think might be ‘training’ but it’s lots of fun!

Hello, I’m Spud, and I’m definitely NOT a couch potato!
After a spell in kennels, I’ve been adopted and all my dreams have come true! I go on adventures through the woods and to a big field with agility jumps, which is my favourite thing to do and if I say so myself, I’m brilliant at it. Watch out Crufts, here we come!
My new Mum says I’m as bright as a button. They’re helping me to learn its ok to calm down and relax, which is good as I don’t want to be on high alert all the time. I’m also sleeping like a baby now – as you can see!
I’m a cheeky boy and far too clever for my own good, but luckily my new family are enjoying the challenge and are finding me very rewarding!

Hello, I’m Maggie and I’m a very happy puppy in the new home that NWESSR found for me!
My new owner describes me as a ‘bright little dog’ and they are teaching me lots of fun things to do 😊We play lots of games and I’m really good at the sniffing one. I’ve still got to master the art of loose-lead walking and not jumping up, which is very very difficult for a giddy puppy, but I’m trying my best and I know I’ll get there in the end! My Mum says I’m a ‘work in progress’, but I’m going to be worth it!

Freddie’s family have sent us this video, and told us “On 4 December we have had Freddie for a year! It’s gone so quickly, we’ve packed loads in, and watched his confidence grow.” Well, that has just about made our day!
