Buddy in the driving seat.

Its been a hectic time for Buddy since we picked him up from the kennels on the 23rd of June, five days later he was off on his holidays with us. We had to introduce him to the motor home, he quite like the drivers seat and made his self at home, decided where he was going to sleep and settle in the driving position between the two front seats.
First stop was Delamere Forest with plenty of walks through the woods, next stop was Bala Lake walking in the hills and swimming in the lake, returning on the Bala Lake Railway, he just curled up under the seats and went to sleep. All that walking and swimming had tired him out!
We found an enclosed field to practice his off lead walking and recall, he did very well but was easily distracted with all the smells to investigate.
Then we were off to Harlech to see the castle and play on the beach, lots of recall and heel work practice and paddling in the sea. The last visit was Llanrwst for walks through the forest up to Llyn Geirionydd for more swimming.
All too soon we had to return home but his adventures didn’t stop, lots more walks on the West Pennine Moors.
Buddy has been really good and we are building up our trust with each other, he enjoys being brushed and let me trim his feathers, under his tummy and the knotted fur behind his ears. He’s still very sensitive to his neck and rear being touched and this has to be done very gently, we are getting there with him.
His next stage will be going back to school to get his good citizens training and getting him use to visiting the vet.
Best Regards,
Malcolm and Karen
